Advancing the forage industry through education, networking & leadership
November 16-18, 2010
Provided in a dual meeting format, the MFA Risk-Reduction Research Summit and Minnesota
Forage Research Symposium offer complementary opportunities to learn, network and
advance our industry. Leading forage experts will be on-hand to share their work. Forage
producers, certified crop consultants, forage industry representatives, university and
agency personnel alike won’t want to miss this first of its kind event.
MFA’s Risk-Reduction Research Summit • November 16-17, 2010
This meeting will focus on reducing risks by taking advantage of new research and policy
opportunities. Presentations will include reports on the most recent Midwest Forage
Research Program (MFRP) projects, crop insurance options, a USDA-ARS St. Paul Unit
research update and NRCS conservation programs. Tuesday evening offers a poster session
combined with industry exhibits and networking opportunities. On Wednesday morning,
it’s time to roll-up your sleeves for roundtable discussions and brainstorming sessions
about what is and is not working well in forage production practices and identify research
priorities to help producers reduce risk and increase yield.
Minnesota Forage Research Symposium • November 17-18, 2010
The goal of the Symposium is to share the wealth of progressive University of Minnesota,
USDA-ARS St. Paul Unit and NRCS forage-related research with producers, ag educators and
industry representatives. The Symposium will build greater awareness of this research and
provide participants a closer look at the most recent research available for use in the field.
Wednesday evening will feature a poster session, exhibits and networking opportunities.
CEU credits will be available.
